Be Kind, Go Electric with Lawn Care
The future of lawncare machines—mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers—is electric, battery powered, quiet, non-polluting. Brushless motors and lithium batteries have reached the point where they’re light weight, powerful, and affordable enough that the days of pollution-spewing, loud gas-powered machines can be replaced. Eventually they will be outlawed in our area—they already are in some states and counties.
There are several advantages to electric when considering your next lawncare purchase
1. Electric motors are quiet. Protect your ears and the sanity of your neighbors. Weedwacking before people wake? Check. Leafblowing for a couple hours? Silent. Professional arborists frequently use electric chainsaws when climbing because it improves communication with the ground crew.
2. They don't require maintanance! If you've ever owned small engines, you'd know maintenance is nearly constant. From the carburator, to the fuel lines, filters, oil changes... And todays gas is mixed with Ethanol, which attracts water and eventually clogs the tiny openings in a carburator. An electric motor doesn't have any of these issues, just grab and go.
3. They don't require gas. In most homeowner insurance policies, its prohibited to store gasoline in an attached garage or adjacent to living space. Just one small way to help improve the safety of our family and our firefighters.
