Mineral Hill
Mineral Hill is a 46 acre property purchased in 2010 by Delaware County. It is part of the Mineral Hill Area Park System which includes Louis Scott Park in Upper Providence Township and a small easement from Elwyn Inc. which together with Mineral Hill total 123 acres of contiguous public open space. Mineral Hill is known for its geological significance. The property is full of hard-to-find minerals such as feldspar, amazonite and moonstone. Mineral Hill is also a source for serpentine β a green rock used to construct a number of buildings in the area. The property has largely sat undisturbed since itβs purchase.
