Food Composting—The Ultimate Recycling!

Fall is a great time to start composting.   It’s easier than you may think!

By composting your food waste, you can reduce your carbon footprint, improve soil health for your veggie and flower garden, reduce stormwater runoff, as compost can hold about five times its weight in water.  Plus, you can  save money on fertilizer.

Composting is also a  fun and educational activity for kids to learn about nature and sustainability!   Here is a link on how to compost your Halloween pumpkin.

This is a FREE composting workshop for Middletown residents, presented by the Pennsylvania Resources Council.    You will also be able to purchase a discounted composting bin. Let’s get started making some black gold!

The workshop is being sponsored by Middletown Twp. EAC and Transition Town Greater Media.
